Food Safety and Standard Authority of India (FSSAI) license is the most important one for a Food Business Operator – manufacturers, import, processing, packaging, storage, distribution, and restaurants. The objective is to ensure the standards of the food manufactured, imported and sold within the country. There are three categories of license based on turnover and single/multiple state operations.
Facts about FSSAI Registration
Apart from the FSSAI registration, the entity must have registrations like GST, PAN, Shops & Establishments, and other requisite registrations. Thus, it has to be a separate entity.
The FSSAI logo shall be displayed prominently in the packaging/label and violation of this condition is a serious offense and may lead to cancellation of the license.
